Where the Passion Begins

Peter Latham
BA (Hons) Music Practice
BTEC ND Music Technology
Guitar and Drums Teacher
Peter ironically didn't take a serious interest in music until early 1998, when he was playing keyboards and writing songs with a low key band called The Potion. Soon after this time he took a BTEC ND course in Music Technology followed by a BA Honours degree in Music Practice some years later.
His first 'job' in music was as a musical director for a Burnley Youth Theatre production of 'Beauty & The Beast' and he has stayed involved in youth and music projects continuously since 2008... and led a drumming workshop at Irwell Unit in Bury General Hospital for over 10 years...how time flies eh?
He has played as a solo artist and as a folk music group member (Picnic Club) in the past but is now currently working as a music leader, youth worker, tutor, function musician workshop leader and also playing sitar in a two-piece Indian Folk group Peter & Jules.
He has never been fixated with just one style of music for long, having been interested in dance, techno, folk, rock, pop, ambient, relaxational music, and many others at various stages of his life. For him, it's the vast range of music styles and moods which makes being involved in it so enjoyable, and he enjoys working with and teaching young people from all kinds of musical and social backgrounds.
Most of all he enjoys making a difference to young peoples' lives though music.
