Jonnie currently works as pianist for The Royal Ballet School, MIBE, Shockout Arts and KSDance as well as for the ISTD and the Cecchetti Society.  In the past he has played for ballet companies such as Northern Ballet, English National Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet and Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures.  If a touring ballet company comes to the North West, there’s a good chance he’ll be playing for their warm-up class before the show!

He has performed as ‘on stage’ pianist in a few ballet productions, including playing Gershwin’s Piano Concerto and playing on stage in the Royal Opera House for the 100th Anniversary of Cecchetti Ballet Gala.  He’s also played in the pit in many musical theatre productions, (although that feels like a previous life!)  He occasionally plays as part of the Trappini Piano Trio.  He recently worked as the pianist for the new recording of the Cecchetti Ballet Intermediate Syllabus.

He studied music at the University of Manchester, where he gained a Degree in Music and a Masters Degree in Musicology.
