Classes We Offer

At Dansworks Academy of Performing Arts we have Dancing, Acting, and Singing classes and provide a friendly and encouraging learning environment for everyone!

We welcome you to join our family and achieve your goals!

We don’t care whether you can:

  • Dance like Darcey Bussell or Ashley Banjo or have two left feet
  • Act like Daniel Craig or Emma Watson or can't act your way out of a paper bag
  • Sing like Adele or Ed Sheeran or can’t carry a tune in a bucket

We have classes for you whether you are looking for one or two classes a week as a new hobby or interested in a more serious level of training. See the following for an overview of the classes we offer:

Acting

Acting (Drama) Classes

Express your creativity through improv and learn acting foundations through scenes, monologues and more!

We use games within our warmup which links drama and play and encourages students to relax. This also helps children have fun, build relationships with other students, and build everyone’s confidence.

Dancing

Everybody Dance Now! (EDN)

Living with additional needs can in some cases make it difficult for an individual to express themselves. Dancing allows students to do this through movement and our classes are created to allow all our students to join in, encouraging increased physical fitness and promoting the development of gross motor skills.

Dancing

Street Dance

There is more to Street Dance than most people think. Street Dance is not just one style of dance, it is diverse, ever-changing and offers something for EVERYONE. Whilst the umbrella term ‘Street Dance’ refers to the many different styles within it (i.e. House, Locking, Popping, Breaking etc), most of our Street Dance classes are hip hop based, resembling much of what is featured in modern media such as music videos, commercials, films and TV.

Dancing

Tap Dance

Tap is the original Street Dance! Starting on Americas Streets in the 1930s.

Ever found yourself tapping your feet? Then Tap could be for you!

There is currently a resurgence of tap being performed in many West End shows now, so it is a fantastic skill to have to give you the edge.
