Andrea Hall

Director

Andrea has known Dansworks founder, Karen, since Primary School and has followed her career from leaving school to the present day. Andrea was delighted when she was asked by Karen and Dale if she would like to become a Director of the new Dansworks Dance Academy of Performing Arts Community Interest Company.

Andrea has a varied background, she worked for more than 17 years at British Airways, as a sales consultant for the sports and entertainment department, arranging bespoke packages for celebrity clients and sports personalities.

After getting married and starting a family, Andrea decided to accept voluntary redundancy from British Airways. Andrea's husband was working in Dubai at the time, so Andrea and their two daughters spent the next eleven years going back and forth during school holidays.

At home she volunteered at her daughters’ primary school assisting children to read, this inspired her to go back to college and study Children and Young People development (birth to 19 years). This included a placement in a local primary school as classroom assistant working with children on the autistic spectrum.

After that she went on to study Psychology at Bolton University. During this time she became a Samaritan and spent 4 years as a listening volunteer.

From this, Andrea studied Counselling and Psychotherapy at Salford University and had several volunteer placements, including the Place2Be children’s charity, Blackburn Women’s Aid and Bury Hospice.

For the last few years,  Andrea has worked for Bury Council as an Older People’s Staying Well co-ordinator.

Andrea is a wife to Stephen and a mother to two beautiful girls who make her proud every day.

She also has a collection of fur babies including a labradoodle, 2 alpacas, 2 lambs and 6 pygmy goats. You can meet these at Ainsworth Alpacas
