BA(hons), AIDTA(Str;F)
Lizzy began her dance career aged 4 at Cliftons Dance Academy in Grimsby where she studied Ballroom, Latin American, Freestyle (Disco), Rock ‘n’ Roll and Street Dance. She began competing in ADFP Freestyle and Rock ‘n’ Roll competitions aged 7 and travelled all over the UK with her dance school competing in solo, pairs and team competitions. In 1999 she became one of the original members of the Freestyle team “High Voltage.” The team sped through the ranks winning their first 21 competitions without fail (and many more thereafter) and soon became championship level dancers. Lizzy went on to win 7 county championship titles with them during the 6 years they were together.
Lizzy passed many IDTA examinations during her time at Cliftons and reached a very high level in Ballroom, Latin American and Rock ‘n’ Roll and she completed the entire IDTA syllabus in Freestyle.
At 18, after passing her A-levels, which included Dance, Performance Studies and Drama & Theatre Studies, Lizzy went to MMU Cheshire to study BA (hons) Dance and Drama. During this time she was also a member of MMU’s street dance society “All Urban.” At MMU she studied Contemporary Dance and performed in and choreographed many original dance pieces. She graduated in 2009 with a 2:1 degree.
In 2010, Lizzy passed her IDTA Associate Freestyle teaching qualification under James Parker of XL Danceworks and began teaching for Dansworks Dance Academy in September that year. Lizzy is also a qualified Zumba Fitness instructor and has since attained her IDTA Associate Street Dance teaching qualification and is a professional member of Street Dance International (SDI).
Lizzy is also a professional dancer and is in great demand both throughout the UK and Europe and so spends virtually every weekend travelling and performing.
Lizzy also oversees all our Street Dance and Freestyle competitions around the UK with SDI and UDO.
